ICE! ICE! BABY!

http://www.igougo.com/photogallery/thumbnail.aspx?JournalPhotoID=256860
This is one of the "coolest" things we've ever been to! (Pun intended )It is and Ice sculpture exhibit at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas (near Fort Worth) . The hotel is amazing and the "Ice!" exhibit is even more amazing! When you arrive, they give you all a calf-length parka to wear because it's only 9 degrees in the exhibit hall! All of the Ice sculptures are life size! It takes you about an hour to go through the whole thing, and at the end, there's an ice castle with stairs to the top and an ice slide you go down on your bum! The town of Grapevine is a cute town with cute shops, and you can ride an old 1920's steam engine train to the Fort Worth Stockyards...which is a neat place too--lots of cute shops! They also have a Longhorn "Stampede"..OK, stampede is a very strong term...basically, a bunch of Longhorns go lazily meandering down the street, but the kids get an up close and personal experience with them, so it was a favorite. We already have our reservations for Dec. 27-29, and it's best to purchase your tickets for "ICE!" ahead of time on-line because then you can better pick which time-slot you want . If any of you Texans want to join us, or want info on the "ICE!" exhibit, go to:

That is neat, Steph. I went to the Gaylord Hotel last year when I went to visit Bret's family in Flower Mound, TX. How close do you live to them?

and thanks for the party invite! if we lived in the austin area, i'd say sure! but we are like 4 hours away now:( i remember when we lived there you invited us and we couldn't go because we didn't have a babysitter. i was t.o.'d. we didn't really know anyone yet. i really didn't get to know that many people too well in the short time we lived there. anyways, hope you guys have a blast this weekend. i've heard you hackings know how to partay!

It does look awesome -- what cracks me up is that I just read Holly's post about the Star Wars outfits and then I click on your blog and find you ALL wearing them! Our Chris lives in Grapevine with his family -- it's a cute little place. Lots of fun!
