Saturday, Lauren attended the Texas State Junior Classical League's
Latin Area Convention and Pentathlon
There, she had to take a test that was administered to all Latin students in the area in both Middle School and High School. The same test was administered to both Middle and High School students. Lauren received a Magnum Cum Laude rating on her test!!! This is especially impressive since this is only her first year of Latin!
Her school, Clint Small Middle School also scored the highest of all the middle schools in the competition!
Lauren also entered the costume portion of the convention. She was asked to dress as Hebe--Goddess of Youth and cup bearer to the Gods ...how fitting! She was only allowed to spend 35 dollars and had to submit a picture of herself in the costume along with her price list.
She makes a good Goddess, does she not?....I'm pretty sure she gets that from me...

That is so great! I have always wondered by Latin isn't taught in all schools. We have actually considered teaching it to our kids at home. We might have to move to Texas.
congrats to lauren! a very cool accomplishment, kicking all those 2nd and 3rd year latin students butts:) ye-yeah! also, she makes a very beautiful goddess, great costume. she is so pretty(i think she looks a little bit like my oldest actually).

The Latin program is awesome! Students who get in to the class their 7th grade year, automatically have it their 8th grade year as well...the two years they complete in middle school, counts as a years language credit for High School.
Not only does Lauren get her looks from you but also her brains. Lance isn't smart at all, so luckily she inherited all the good stuff from you. Ha Ha! Way to go Lauren.
