My M&M's!!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love M&M's!!! Esp. peanut. I love them so much that Lance got me a year supply for Valentine's Day Last year....they lasted 9 months...I shared!!
Anywho, I've ordered the custom M&M's before that you can put your own message on, but guess what?!?! It just keeps getting better!! NOW, you can put your FACE on them!!!! Now, tell me, who wouldn't want to have some M&M's with my face all over them?!?! You can put your face all over them too!! Just go HERE

Pics from Cub Scout Day Camp

Cub Scout Day Camp (3 days) was very fun this year. I have work off for June and July and was able to attend for two of the days with my main man Chase! As usual, he was awesome at everything and we had a lot of fun.

No luck for Chase this year for fishing, but we did get to watch a snake sitting right next to us eat a dead fish. Amazing to watch - right off the Discovery channel:


Chase had one of the best rockets made out of paper.

However he was constantly making use of the mister (strapped on at all times). After using the mister on his rocket, it didn't fly so good anymore...

Who's your mommy?

At Cub Scout Day Camp, Mark, along with the rest of us "leaders", took out his lunch. However, something was a bit different with Mark's lunch. Hmm...what is it? The dang crust was cut off his sandwich! Apparently, Kristen hasn't yet switched gears from making lunches for her kids going to school.
Kristen and Mark (and anyone else stuck in mommy/daddy mode), time for date night!

Ah, I love Napoleon Dynamite and this quote was a classic.

Same theme was in the movie Six Days and Seven Nights:
Robin: Whoa. What happened?
Quinn: It crumpled the landing gear when we hit.
Robin: Well, aren't you gonna fix it? I mean can't we, can't we reattach it somehow?
Quinn: Sure, we'll, like, glue it back on.
Robin: Aren't you one of those guys?
Quinn: What guys?
Robin: Those guy guys, you know, those guys with skills.
Quinn: Skills?
Robin: Yeah. You send them into the wilderness with a pocket knife and a Q-tip and they build you a shopping mall. You can't do that?
Quinn: No, I can't do that, but I can do this:

Well, last week was cub scout day camp, which contrary to the name, actually last for three days. I was there two days with my 9 yr old Chase and on the 1st day, the Nature girl decided to bestow upon all of us a new survival skill. The science of animal poop, or as those in the know (and I'm sure all those Utah hunting friends) refer to it as, "scat". On a picnic table there was a dozen samples of rubberized scat from various animals. "Scat Queen" preceded to enlighten us with the proper way to categorize scat, determine what an animal had eaten, how long it had been since the depositing of the scat, etc. Every one of those 12 boys were completely attentive and comfortable being by, looking at, and playing with the pretend scat. Is this just a boy thing?
Anyway, now that these boys all have a much desired skill, they are ready to start picking up some babes! Hey Steph, I bet I'm looking pretty hot to you right now with these new-found skills!

Canyon of the Eagles--Lake Buchannan

Last Thursday, to celebrate school being out, we loaded up the trailer, hooked up the jet-ski, and headed for Canyon of the Eagles up on Lake Buchanan.

After setting up camp, we head up to the restaurant there.

It has a beautiful view over-looking the lake


...yes, we were the largest party in there....that is until the party of 33 came...THEN they were wishing they had just us again....

I'm sick of getting my picture taken... I'm pretty sure the camera adds 25-30 lbs....oh wait...that was my peanut M&M's that did that....

The next day we spent the morning at the pool. Of course, while I was collecting as much cancer as possible...the rest of the gang had a "dive-off"...they got some good diving skills...and splashing skills...

Later that afternoon, our good friends the Stouts met up with us, and we took the jet-ski out for some fun! The kids always have a great time just jumping on and off the tube together...again..we had a "jump-off"...literally...
Wyatt made great progress this year!! He did the knee board ALL BY HIMSELF!! Lance started out doing it with him, but was quickly told to drop off and let him do it himself! He didn't get up on his knees, he just stayed on his belly, but he held on the whole time, and had a blast...begging to do it again later!...pretty good for a 4 year old...

Later that night...much later!...we drove up to the Eagle Eye Observatory. It's one of the top observatories in the nation...and it was SO COOL!!

Maybe I'm just stupid...or maybe it's because this was my first time looking through a telescope of this size, but I was amazed!This is M-13 a cluster of stars...in a galaxy far, far, away.... :)

This is Mars...blurry...not as impressive...but redd-ish none-the-less

the moon ...obviously...However, I saw no evidence whatsoever of a man living in there...nor did it look like cheese...

This was everyone's favorite...Saturn...It didn't even look real to me! It's like sure, you see pictures of Saturn and it's rings in National Geographic all the time...but to just be able to look through a telescope and see this?...AMAZING!!!
I've never seen so many stars out...advantages of being away from city lights.
I felt so small.

My kids really enjoyed it as well...I highly reccommend going there! The observatory is only open certain nights though, so call before you go.

The next day we were all so sore and tired, we decided to take the "Vanishing Texas River Cruise"

It's a two hour tour (not three...thank heavens) that travels 7 miles up one of the Canyons nearby. There was some beautiful scenery

I like how the rock looks like it's flowing off as well...probably was...once...

We saw lots of wildlife...as well as livestock, since the ranchers all own the property lining the river...no Eagles though...You have to be there between November to March to see the Bald Eagle colonies...guess we'll have to come back...

As usual, we had a great time, and look forward to more of the same this summer! Lance is now OFFICIALLY on Sabatical! Hooray! He's got June and July off work--paid! Ya-hooo!
