Summer Splash down

Of course the last couple weeks of summer before school start are busy...especially when you are trying to play as much as possible before it ends!!

The weekend before school started we went to Pace Bend with our friends the Necacks. They brought their boat and we brought our wave runner. Lance's brother Scott was in town, so he got to come play with us too!

The weekend before that we went with some other friends to go float the San Marcos River

The water was so clear and cool!
It was heaven on a 100 degree day!!!


At the end of the peaceful relaxing float (about 45 mins) there are three tiers of rapids that you can get out and go down over and over again on your tubes--very fun!..

Back to school...back to blogging...and the like...

Wow. I have been MIA for awhile!!...I have so much to catch up on :/
I figure I will just start with now, and go backwards a bit...if I even remember how to do it...

First day of school 2010!!

Two in High School:
Lauren:Sophmore
Madi: Freshman

One starting Middle school
Chase: 6th grade
(so cool)
And two in elementary!
Conor 4th grade
Wyatt: 1st grade
(yes, they wore shoes to school)

To commemorate this occasion, I decided it would be a fun FHE activity to make Twinkie School buses....like so....

Then the boys make theirs.....after Lance brings out the strawberry syrup...

Suddenly we have terrible bus wrecks...


...and licorice people run over and cut in half...


Finally The Lego rescue crew is called in, but it's too late.

We were all laughing hysterically...which was probably super inappropriate because bus crashes are no laughing matter.

Looks like we're off to a great start this school year!!

Music by Candlelight

Lauren had an Orchestra concert called, "Music By Candlelight"
We all got to sit and eat dinner and shop at the auction while listening to beautiful music! :)

Madi's new job!

Madi has big news!
She has been asked to do an internship at Ballet Austin being an assistant teacher of creative movement to the three year old class!
She started on Saturday. She teaches two classes, and in exchange, gets to take whatever class she wants to from Ballet Austin!
She is very excited for the opportunity and said the classes were so fun to do on Saturday with the little girls!! Madi has such a gift for teaching, choreography and working with children--she will do great!
Way to go Madi!!

I am soooooo behind on my blog...it's ridiculous..But I'll try to do some catching up...
Chase's first piano recital!
Chase has an incredible ability to play whatever he hears. He is very talented, and would rather play whatever he wants instead of reading the notes...sounds familiar...anyway, he worked hard on his songs and had them memorized and ready to go!
He played "Lucy and Linus" theme from Charlie Brown, and "Joy to the World"
He did a great job!!
